At the April 8, 2025, Committee of the Whole meeting, Council was honoured to receive a framed print from STARS Air Ambulance as a token of appreciation for the Town of Edson’s continued partnership and dedication to supporting critical care services in Alberta.
The presentation was made by Glenda Farnden, Senior Municipal Relations Liaison with STARS, who also delivered the organization’s Annual Update to Council.
During her presentation, Ms. Farnden highlighted the impact STARS has had on the Edson region:
-
Since 2010, 100 Edson residents have been flown by STARS to receive urgent medical care across Alberta, and into British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
-
Over the same period, STARS has completed 141 missions directly from the Edson Hospital and 64 additional missions from the immediate surrounding area.
The Town of Edson is proud to support the work of STARS and remains committed to helping ensure rapid access to critical care for residents in times of emergency. Council and administration extend their thanks to STARS for their ongoing service and partnership.
