Wild Wednesdays

Announcing the 2024 Wild Wednesday lineup! Registration will open June 19 at 9:00am.

Thank you to Tourmaline for sponsoring Wild Wednesdays, allowing us to offer the YIA Olympics on August 14, and outdoor movie on August 28 for free, and to subsidize the cost of our other events!

Learn all about the world of 3D printing with instructor Echo McKelvie! Participants will explore possible applications for use, unique career opportunities, and make their own creation with 3D pens. Take home your own fidget spinner - made on a 3D printer. Snacks and drinks provided.

When: 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, July 3

Where: Griffith's Park Centre (5414-6th Ave)

Join YIA as we hit the road and head to Whitecourt for a round of mini golf, followed by an afternoon at Festival Park. Bring a tube or borrow one of ours to hit the river slides. Please pack a lunch or bring money for the concession. Snacks provided. Bus departs Griffith's Park Centre parking lot at 9:00am, and will return by 4:00pm.

Join YIA as we travel to Niton for a swim in their outdoor pool and time on the pumptrack and park space. Don't forget your scooter and helmet! We have limited space to bring a few bikes, please let us know in advance if you would like to bring your bike: nicolet@edson.ca. Please pack a lunch. Snacks provided.

Join us for a FREE youth-only outdoor movie, complete with a free concession sponsored by Tourmaline! Starts at dusk (approximately 9pm).

YIA - Action-Packed Camps

Spend your summer unplugged with Edson Youth Interagency, and the return of our Action-Packed camps! These camps are for youth ages 10-14 and will include activities like; gymnastics, field trips, canoeing, team building, tie-dying, sports, cooking, swimming, outdoor pursuits, and more!

Camps run 9:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday. Pick-up and dropoff at Kinsmen Shack (located in Kinsmen Park). $125/week. Space is limited.

This camp will include walking to different locations in town, and using bus transportation to visit other locations. A full itinerary will be provided closer to the camp. These camps are a cellphone-free zone. Additional waivers will be required.
 
Registration opens June 19 at 9:00am.
 
LGBTQ+ youth are always welcome! Participants are encouraged to register for the camp that they identify most closely with.

When: 9:30am-3:30pm Monday, July 15 - Thursday, July 18

The Youth Interagency Committee is devoted to fostering empowerment and having a positive impact in the lives of youth in Edson and Yellowhead County.  We believe in the potential of youth as they become confident, competent and caring individuals.  We are a committed group who aim to provide leadership opportunities, standards of excellence and enjoyable and safe activities for youth.
