Warming Centre Open January 8-12

Due to the severe weather conditions anticipated for this week, the Extreme Cold Emergency Warming Centre Protocol has been activated. The warming centre will be open each night this week until Friday, from 8 pm – 8 am. This could be extended depending on the weather heading into the weekend.

 

As per the protocol, when the temperature reaches -25° C, including wind chill, the necessary measures are implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of our vulnerable population.

Our generators will be activated in advance to ensure the operational readiness of the warming centre. The centre will be accessible to our vulnerable citizens from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am, providing a safe and warm space during these extreme weather conditions.
