Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. Council has authorized Administration to submit an application to become a designated host community under the Rural Renewal Stream (RRS) of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. The RRS program nominates people for permanent residence in Alberta, providing they have skills to fill job shortages or are planning to buy or start a business in the province. They must also be able to provide for their families. Council also authorized Mayor Zahara to execute an endorsement letter, which if a requirement for the Town’s application to the program. The Town of Edson was previously an approved host community in the RRS program, before temporarily suspending participation in October to review program concerns, which have been addressed through administrative changes..
