Sharps - What to do

Posted on

Safeguard Your Environment!

If you discover sharps (like needles, glass, or broken equipment) or biohazardous materials, DO NOT touch or try to move them. These items pose serious risks to health and safety. Follow these steps to ensure everyone's well-being:

  • Report Immediately: Notify Town of Edson Parks Department (during business hours), Municipal Enforcement or RCMP if on public property.  Contact Municipal Enforcement if you find items on private property.
  • Avoid Direct Contact: Never touch or handle biohazards without proper protection.
  • Use Protective Gear: If you must handle them, always wear gloves and follow safety protocols.
  • Proper Disposal: Sharps should go in a rigid, puncture-proof container. Biohazards need to be disposed of in designated biohazard bags/containers.

Your safety is the top priority! If you're unsure how to handle it, always ask for guidance from trained personnel. Let's keep our spaces safe and secure!
