Edson Business Licence Reminder

Attention Edson businesses! Whether you’re a local entrepreneur or an out-of-town operation working here, you’re required to have a valid Edson business licence to operate.

What is Considered a Business?

A business is any operation selling goods or services, including:

  • Home-based, commercial, or industrial businesses
  • Hawkers/peddlers or temporary vendors
  • Contractors with more than three sub-trades

If you’re running a business, big or small, you’ll need a licence to continue operating in Edson.

Automatic Licence Renewals on January 1

Business licences automatically renew on January 1 each year. If you need to update, cancel, or apply for a new licence, visit www.edson.ca/business-licences.

Switch to electronic billing to avoid postal delays!

Payment Options

Here’s how you can pay:

  1. E-Transfer: Send to receipts@edson.ca with the password as your business name. Be sure to include your business name and contact details in the email.
  2. Visa/Mastercard: Use OptionPay on the Town of Edson website.
  3. Pre-authorized Payments: Sign up at the Civic Centre (bring a void cheque).
  4. Mail Cheques: Address to Town of Edson, Civic Centre, 605 - 50th Street, Edson, AB T7E 1T7.
  5. Drop Off: Leave a cheque in the secure mailbox outside the Civic Centre entrance (no cash, please).
