Supporting Our Community: A Message on Homeless Encampments
We recognize the concern and frustration as we work to address concerns surrounding homeless encampments around our community. Balancing the needs of our community members, businesses, and individuals experiencing homelessness is a priority.
If you encounter an encampment and require assistance, please remember:
- The first point of contact should be the RCMP non-emergency line at (780) 723-8822.
- In life-threatening emergencies, or if you notice a fire, please dial 911 immediately.
Our RCMP and Municipal Enforcement teams are dedicated to working together and handling these situations with care and compassion. If additional support is needed, Municipal Enforcement can be reached via dispatch by calling (825) 605-5432.
A reminder that business owners are encouraged to attend a Town Hall Meeting on November 20th starting at 7PM at the Edson Friendship Centre to discuss the topic of homelessness. This meeting will also be live streamed.
