Edson Youth Council Joins Committee of the Whole Meeting

Posted on

Last night, we had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Edson Youth Council to the Committee of the Whole meeting. These inspiring young leaders took the opportunity to introduce themselves, share their experiences, and highlight the positive impact they’re making in our community.

Youth Council members, ranging from first-year participants to those serving their fifth term, shared common themes of community involvement, passion for volunteering, and a deep interest in learning about local government. From organizing events and contributing to meaningful discussions to volunteering at food banks and community gatherings, their commitment to Edson's future is evident.

This collaboration between Youth Council and the Town provides these young leaders with hands-on experience in municipal governance while allowing them to advocate for youth needs. Each of them brought unique perspectives on what they’ve enjoyed most about their role, including volunteering opportunities, learning about local government processes, and being able to give back to the community.

The Youth Council is a key initiative to help the next generation of leaders in Edson connect with their community, gain valuable skills, and contribute to decision-making. I
