Councillor Gean Chouinard Honoured with King Charles III Coronation Medal

This medal, minted in recognition of King Charles III’s coronation on May 6, 2023, is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities or Canada as a whole.
Councillor Chouinard was recognized for his outstanding dedication and service to the Edson community. His nominators highlighted his tireless volunteerism, describing him as a first responder to community crises and the last to leave. Chouinard's work during the Jasper Wildfire, where he volunteered as a bus driver for the Edson Seniors Transportation Society, was particularly noted. In the early hours of the morning, he transported vulnerable seniors to safety, exemplifying his selflessness and commitment.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal is the first Canadian honour to feature the Canadian Royal Crown approved by His Majesty. It symbolizes significant contributions to Canada and reflects the profound impact recipients like Councillor Chouinard have made.
