Mayor’s Golf Tournament Raises $22K for Edson Animal Rescue Society

Town of Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara hosted his 2nd Annual ‘Charity Golf Tournament’ at the Edson Golf Club on Friday, August 25, 2023.
The Tournament raised approximately $22,000 for the Edson Animal Rescue Society (EARS). EARS serves Edson and the surrounding areas, with foster homes reaching as far as Hinton, Whitecourt, and Edmonton. They are a foster home-based, no-kill rescue run by a group of dedicated volunteers, which includes a Board of Directors, foster homes, and volunteers.
“I’m pleased to see the generosity from our sponsors, local community, and businesses again this year,” said Mayor Kevin Zahara. “We are extremely thankful for the support, and we hope to see everyone next year as we help different organizations in our region,” he added.
The 2nd annual event welcomed 104 participants, and a truckload of pet food and supplies was collected for EARS.
