Organizational Meeting
External Auditor Appointment. Council appointed MNP as the Town’s external auditor for the 2024 financial year, with an agreement covering 2024 to 2026 and an option to extend the contract for 2027 and 2028.
Meeting Schedule. The 2024-2025 meeting schedule was approved as presented. The full schedule can be found here.
Council Board and Committee Appointments. Council approved the 2024-2025 Board and Committee appointments. The updated list can be found here.
Library Board Appointments. Two public-at-large members were appointed to the Edson Public Library Board.
Deputy Mayor Rotation. Councillor Pasychny has been appointed as Deputy Mayor until June 30, 2025.

Regular Meeting
Lions Club Campground Agreement. Council directed Administration to enter into negotiations with the Lions Club for an updated Service Agreement and land lease for continued operations of the campground.
2024 Capital Projects Update. An update on the 2024 Capital Projects was provided and accepted as information.
Reserve Policy F-B-4. A new Reserve Policy F-B-4 was approved, and $4,564,453 was transferred from Accumulated Surplus to Reserves to align with the new policy.
Director of Emergency Management Appointment. The Fire Chief has been appointed as the Director of Emergency Management for the Town of Edson. Council also appointed the Deputy Fire Chief and the Enforcement Services Manager as Deputy Directors of Emergency Management.
Disposal of Fleet and Equipment. Council approved the disposal of specific fleet and equipment items that have reached the end of their useful life. Additionally, Council directed Administration to offer excess wood from the 2024 summer storms to the public at no cost. This wood will be available for pickup at a secure, designated location later this fall.
