Backflow Installation Program Expansion

Our Sanitary Sewer Backflow Installation Program, originally launched in 2023, has been expanded to offer even more protection for your home! Last year, we started covering 50% of the cost of installing sewer backflow preventers, helping homeowners safeguard against sewer backups. However, following the heavy rains in June, many homes still experienced flooding due to a lack of sump pumps and improper weeping tile connections to the sewer system.
In response, we expanded the program to now also include a subsidy for installing a sump pump system that discharges water outside your home. This expansion means that residents can receive a 50% reimbursement on the costs of installing these crucial systems, providing an extra layer of defence against flooding and sewage backups.
