Intermunicipal Subdivision & Development Appeal Board (ISDAB)

Interested in a paid public service opportunity, working in a decision-making capacity? Want to learn more about municipal subdivision and development processes and legislation?

The Town of Edson is currently seeking passionate individuals for the Intermunicipal Subdivision & Development Appeal Board. Members must be 18 years of age or older and be current residents of the Town of Edson.

The ISDAB listens to appeals on decisions made by the Town’s Subdivision Authority and Development Authority in both the Town of Edson and the Town of Hinton. Board members are responsible for issuing decisions based on evidence presented by the parties at a hearing, while also adhering to any applicable and current legislation.

Board Members should be able to demonstrate critical and analytical thinking skills, and integrity, and show concern for the interests of all parties impacted by development. Knowledge of architecture/construction, land use planning, and/or the subdivision and development process would be an asset.

Board members are selected and appointed by Council for a term of 3 years. Training is provided and compensation will be provided for time spent in hearings and training, as well as compensation for travel.
