Candy Cane Check Stop

Posted on

Last night’s Candy Cane Check Stop was a wonderful example of community spirit and collaboration! The event brought together Edson Community Peace Officers, Edson RCMP, Edson Fire Department, Citizens on Patrol, and the Alberta Health Services Community Peace Officer for an evening of public engagement and safety awareness.

During the check-up, we stopped approximately 230 vehicles and are thrilled to report that no impaired drivers or other issues were identified.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Independent Grocers for generously donating all the candy canes that were handed out during the event. Your contribution helped us spread holiday cheer to every vehicle we stopped!

In keeping with the festive spirit, any remaining candy canes have been donated to the Kinettes for their Christmas Hamper program and to the Edson Daycare Society. Over the next week, our Protective and Enforcement Services teams will be distributing these candy canes to children as part of ongoing public engagement efforts.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success. We are so proud to be part of such a wonderful community and look forward to continuing to work together for a safe and joyful holiday season.
