Automated Traffic Enforcement Changes

Effective tomorrow, December 1st, 2022, motorists in Edson will notice some changes to the previously unmarked automated traffic enforcement vehicles. New provincially regulated and approved signage will be placed on the vehicles while in use for enforcement.
The “Drive Safe” signage is meant to increase the visibility of the vehicles as a part of changes to the Enforcement Guidelines implemented by the Government of Alberta.
Public awareness and transparency are important parts of the Automated Traffic Enforcement Program, and this additional step will help encourage people to slow down on the roadways, as well as increasing awareness of the program.
